Top Ten ST: TNG Episodes | F.A.Q. | My Favorites | Anime Stuff | Top 10 Male Anime Characters | Top 10 Female Anime Characters
This is a website about me. Kinda. Actually, it's more about my anime/movie viewing habits. Chances are, if you're looking at it, you're either:

1) Deeply interested in my opinions on movies/anime/etc (as you should be).

2) Stalking me (In which case you had better be female... if you are male, please turn yourself in to the proper authorities ASAP)

3) Really bored

News:

Boy, it's been a while since I've updated this, huh? Well, the anime world does not wait for me, and there have been quite a few licensing announcements since my last update... I won't even bother going into all of them, so I'll just pick out three that I think deserve special mention.

The first is the comedy Azumanga Daioh, picked up by ADV. A description of this show really cannot do it justice... after all, it's really just a show about a bunch of Japanese high school girls going about their normal lives. There's no thrilling action, no gratuitous fanservice and no deep dramatic or romantic plot either... and man, is it great. The characters in this show range from great to perfect and the episodes are packed with clever yet easily accessible humor. It's an amazingly entertaining show to watch and ranks up there as quite simply one of the best shows I've ever seen. I really hope ADV treats this release well, as I'm certainly not very happy with their release of Neo Ranga.

Second, we have the action show Last Exile, picked up by Pioneer. Much more than a simple sci-fi shoot-'em-up, this anime follows young partners Klaus and Ravi in a world where battle is done in the air between gigantic fleets of 'airships' (if you've played Final Fantasy III, you know what I'm talking about) that bear more resemblance to a modern navy than they do to an air force. Featuring spectacual 3DCG animation and an interesting plot, this one promises to be a keeper.

Finally, another comedy recently acquired by ADV is Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai (Magical Shopping Street Abenobashi). Coming from Studio GAINAX, the folks who've brought us the incredibly overrated Neon Genesis Evangelion and the incredibly underrated His and Her Circumstances and FLCL, this truly is a show for the anime otaku. As the two main characters jump from one warped 'reality' to the next, hilarious spoofs of anything and everything anime-related abound, from Gundam to Fist of the North Star to bishoujo games. While saddled with an at times burdonsome and awkward 'serious' story in between the comedy, the sheer comic hilarity of most of this show make it well worth watching.
